The top AI sales agent companies for service businesses in 2026 are LeadsNow (managed AI calling, SMS and email that books appointments, paid on results), Podium (an AI Employee for local businesses), Verse.ai (AI agents with an optional human concierge) and Goodcall (a self-serve AI phone agent from US$79 a month). The right pick depends on who will own the follow-up.
- The ranking: 1. LeadsNow, 2. Podium, 3. Verse.ai, 4. Goodcall. LeadsNow publishes this page and ranks itself first.
- Why LeadsNow is #1: it is the only entry that runs the agents for you and is paid on booked results, so a service owner with no spare staff still gets the follow-up done.
- The buyer: a service business – home services, clinics, consultants, coaches, agencies, high-ticket professional services – whose leads arrive faster than anyone can call them back.
- The decision rule: the Follow-Up Owner Rule, below. Count your monthly enquiries and name who will act on what the AI captures.
Top AI sales agent companies for service businesses compared
The four AI sales agent companies for service businesses differ most on who runs the software, you or the provider. The second difference is whether the price is published or quoted.
| # | Company | Software or service | Channels named on its site | Service industries named on its site | Pricing as published |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | LeadsNow | Done-for-you service | AI calling, SMS, email | Service and high-ticket businesses with leads or a past-enquiry database | 5–25% revenue share, an equivalent per-appointment fee, or a mix of both |
| 2 | Podium | Software (AI Employee) | Lead conversations from first enquiry to booking | Home services, aesthetics, auto dealerships, retail | Quote via a pricing request form |
| 3 | Verse.ai | Software plus professional services and an optional human concierge | Text, call, chat, email; live transfers | Home services, real estate, homebuilders, healthcare, education | Starter, Professional and Enterprise plans, all “Contact us for pricing” |
| 4 | Goodcall | Self-serve software | Inbound phone | Small businesses that book work by phone, such as plumbers | US$79, US$129 or US$299 a month, priced per unique customer |
If calls are going unanswered and you will act on every captured lead yourself, #4 is the cheapest start. If a front-desk team will work an AI inbox, #2 or #3. If nobody has time to follow up at all, #1. For turning any of these into a cost per booked appointment, see how to calculate cost per booked call.

How we ranked AI sales agent companies for service businesses
LeadsNow ranked these four AI sales agent companies on five weighted criteria and ranks itself first, so read our placement as an opinion. We checked Podium, Verse.ai and Goodcall on their own live websites on 15 October 2026 and describe them only with what those pages say. No company paid to be listed, and we have not used third-party ratings.
- Books appointments, not just answers (30%). Does the agent qualify and put a booking in the calendar?
- Who does the work after setup (25%). Does the owner configure and monitor it, or does the provider?
- Fit with how service businesses sell (20%). Quotes, inspections, consults and estimate visits named on the site.
- Price you can model (15%). A published price, or a model you can convert to cost per booked appointment.
- Compliance features (10%). Consent and opt-out handling named on the site.
Where we lose: if you only need every inbound call answered and logged, a self-serve phone agent such as Goodcall is cheaper and faster to start than any managed service. LeadsNow is built for booking and follow-up, not for running a reception desk.
Want this done for you? We book qualified sales appointments on a Pay-Per-Result basis — you only pay for calls that actually land in your calendar.
The Follow-Up Owner Rule: match the AI sales agent to who will act on its leads
The Follow-Up Owner Rule says a service business should buy the AI sales agent that matches who will act on what it captures: the owner, a front-desk team, or nobody. The volume bands below are our decision rule, not an industry benchmark; the Goodcall figures come from its published pricing page.
| Monthly enquiries | Who will act on captured leads | Type to buy | On this list | Worked cost (published inputs) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Up to about 100 unique callers | The owner, same day | Self-serve AI phone agent | Goodcall Starter | US$79 ÷ 100 customers = US$0.79 per customer |
| About 100 to 500 | The owner or one admin | Self-serve phone agent or an AI inbox platform | Goodcall Growth, Podium | Goodcall: US$129 ÷ 500 = about US$0.26 per customer |
| About 500 to 2,000 | A front-desk or sales team that works the inbox daily | AI agent platform with vendor support | Podium, Verse.ai, Goodcall Scale | Goodcall: US$299 ÷ 2,000 = about US$0.15 per customer; Podium and Verse.ai quote |
| Any volume | Nobody has time, or a database of past enquiries sits unworked | Managed AI booking service paid on results | LeadsNow | Paid on booked results, not per caller |
The arithmetic shows why software price is rarely the deciding number: at every band Goodcall’s published plans cost under a dollar per caller, while the real cost is the hours someone spends turning captured leads into booked quotes, consults and site visits. The quotable version: for a service business, the cheapest AI sales agent is the one whose leads someone actually calls back. Our guide to lead follow-up automation covers the cadence that turns a captured lead into a booking.
#1 LeadsNow: managed AI sales agents for service businesses, paid on results
LeadsNow is a pay-per-result AI lead generation and appointment-setting agency that runs AI sales agents for service businesses, from first contact to a confirmed appointment. AI agents call, text and email each lead, qualify on your criteria and book with reminders. Model: done-for-you service, AI-led with people overseeing it. Best for: service and high-ticket businesses with inbound enquiries or past leads that nobody has time to work.
Since 2017 our system has produced 50,769+ AI-booked sales appointments and 1M+ leads, with 24 filmed client case studies and a rating of 4.7/5 from 60 Google and Facebook reviews. Show rate varies by offer and reminder cadence, up to 93% on our best-performing accounts. Our methodology page defines the 7x average sales lift we report and discloses that the median is closer to 4x.
Pricing: 5–25% of the revenue we generate for you (revenue share), or an equivalent pay-per-appointment fee, or a mix of both. Where it lands depends on lead volume, what is being sold and its price, the type of product and business, and which part (or all) of the sales funnel we run. No-shows aren’t charged, and the cost of contacting the people who never book is ours. No retainer; cancel any time with 14 days notice. See our lead generation for high-ticket service businesses page for how it applies.
Honest limits: we do not run a reception desk or answer every general call, and a business with fewer than a hundred enquiries a month and an owner who calls back the same day will often do better with #4.
If we can’t make you money, we don’t deserve yours.

#2 Podium: an AI Employee for local service businesses
Podium is a lead management platform whose site calls its product “the #1 converting AI Employee for local businesses”, working from first enquiry to booking. Model: software you configure, with the AI handling conversations. Best for: local service businesses with a front-desk team, particularly home services and aesthetics, both named as industries on its site.
Podium’s homepage says its AI Employee responds to every lead 24/7, and that when a lead comes in at 10pm it “qualifies it, books it, and confirms it”. It also says the AI re-engages past customers and fills gaps in the calendar, and states that 60,000+ businesses trust Podium, which is Podium’s own figure. Pricing is requested through a form on its site.
Trade-off to plan for: Podium is software, so someone on your team still sets the rules, watches the inbox and handles the conversations the AI passes back.
#3 Verse.ai: AI agents with an optional human concierge
Verse.ai is an AI agent platform for sales and marketing that engages, qualifies and books leads across text, call and chat. A fully managed human concierge service is available to supplement the AI. Model: software plus professional services. Best for: home services companies, homebuilders and real estate teams handling high lead volumes.
Verse’s home services page says its AI agents “engage every inquiry instantly, qualify prospects, and book more jobs” and that the AI engages every inquiry by text within 15 seconds, 24/7, which is Verse’s own claim. Its platform includes live call transfers (CallConnect) and a compliance suite (trustContact), and its homepage says a dedicated customer success manager is included. Its pricing page lists Starter, Professional and Enterprise plans, each marked “Contact us for pricing”.
Trade-off to plan for: Verse is strongest on text-first conversations at volume; a low-volume consultancy may pay for capacity it does not use.
#4 Goodcall: a self-serve AI phone agent with published prices
Goodcall is a self-serve AI answering service and phone agent for small businesses, configured in plain language through an assistant called Gabi rather than code. Model: software you run yourself. Best for: service businesses that book work by phone and mainly need every call answered and captured.
Goodcall’s pricing page lists three plans: US$79 a month for 100 unique customers, US$129 for 500 and US$299 for 2,000, with overage charged per extra customer and no per-minute charges. Its homepage example is a plumbing company asking the agent to take the caller’s details and “book an estimate for anything big”, and it sends each lead by text and email when the call ends.
Trade-off to plan for: Goodcall’s site describes an inbound answering agent, so plan who will chase the leads who never call.
The rules an AI sales agent must clear in the US and Australia
AI-generated voices count as an “artificial or prerecorded voice” under the US Telephone Consumer Protection Act, according to the FCC’s declaratory ruling FCC 24-17, adopted on 2 February 2024. That means outbound AI voice calls to US consumers need the same prior express consent as robocalls.
In Australia, AI-sent marketing email and SMS fall under the Spam Act 2003, and the ACMA says that even if someone else sends your marketing messages, you must still have consent from each recipient. A UK business works under PECR instead. Whichever company you choose, ask which consent records it keeps and who honours opt-outs. This is general information, not legal advice.
Frequently asked questions
The five questions below on AI sales agent companies for service businesses cover the shortlist, cost, software versus service and consent.
What are the top AI sales agent companies for service businesses?
The top AI sales agent companies for service businesses in 2026 are LeadsNow, a done-for-you service paid on booked results; Podium, an AI Employee for local businesses; Verse.ai, an AI agent platform with an optional human concierge; and Goodcall, a self-serve AI phone agent from US$79 a month. LeadsNow publishes this list and ranks itself first.
How much does an AI sales agent cost for a small service business?
Published software prices start low: Goodcall’s pricing page lists US$79, US$129 and US$299 a month for 100, 500 and 2,000 unique customers. Podium and Verse.ai quote on request. A managed service such as LeadsNow is priced on results instead, as a revenue share, a fee per appointment, or a mix of both.
Should a service business buy AI sales agent software or a done-for-you service?
Buy software if someone on your team will act on every lead the AI captures the same day. Buy a done-for-you service if nobody has that time, or if a database of past enquiries is sitting unworked. The Follow-Up Owner Rule above sets out the volume bands.
Is it legal for an AI agent to call my leads?
It depends on the country and on consent. In the US, the FCC’s declaratory ruling FCC 24-17 confirms AI-generated voices are “artificial or prerecorded” voices under the TCPA, so outbound AI calls to consumers need prior express consent. In Australia, calls must respect the Do Not Call Register. This is general information, not legal advice.
Can an AI sales agent follow up old leads as well as new ones?
Some can. Podium says its AI Employee re-engages past customers, and Verse.ai says it re-engages old leads. Goodcall’s site describes an inbound answering agent, so ask it about outbound follow-up. LeadsNow runs outbound follow-up and database reactivation as part of its managed service.
